When the sun goes down and the night time comes, can you see millions of stars in the black sky? Stars are very big balls of burning gas. In space, some stars look blue and some stars look red. Our sun is a star. The sun and all the planet that go around it make up the solar system. There eight planets in our solar system Mercury,Venus,Earth,Mars,Jupiter,Uranus,Neptune and dwarf planet called Pluto.The planet Mercury is the planet closest to the sun. Mercury is a small dry planet covered with red rocks. Mercury is also covered with many craters. The biggest crater on Mercury is four billion years old! WOW that's old! The next planet is Venus. It is the second planet from the sun. Venus is the hottest and brightest planet in the solar system. Venus does not have any moons. Next is the planet Earth. It is the third planet from the sun. Three quarters of the Earth is covered in water. The moon is a ball of rock that goes round Earth every 28 days. Earth is the only planet on our solar system with plate tectonics. Earth is also called the Blue planet and the Blue marble. The planet is Mars. Mars is covered in red dust . The biggest volcano on the solar system is on Mars. and next is the fifth planet from the sun. Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system. Jupiter is made up of gases.If you see picture of Jupiter there is a red spot in it, it is a giant storm.

How do you clean up after a flood?
After a flood cleaning up is a hard process. Get fresh air moving through the home by leaving doors and windows open. If your house has been in a flood there is a good chance that you will end up with a mold problem. Keep your children and pets out of the affected area until clean-up has been completed! Phew ! I wouldn't want to clean up after that mess!
What flood has caused the most damage in NZ?
Floods are the most frequent and costly natural disasters in New Zealand between 1920 and 1983, the country experienced 935 damaging floods. In Hawke's Bay in which a party of 50 men,women and children were drowned by the rising of two streams. North Otagos Waitaki valley has been described as the worst seen in close to 40 years.
How do you stay safe in a flood?
We would Construct barries(Leaves,bean,flood walls) to stop floodwater from entering your home.Floodwater is dangerous never drive,walk or ride it! Flood water is also Toxic! I would never play or swim in flood water Drowning is the number one causes of flood deaths. Most people drown their cars than any where else.Electrocution is also a major killen! 6 inches of moving water can knock you off your feet! WOW!
